Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait Congratulates CNN Hero of the Year Top Ten Nominee

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2011) - The City of Anaheim is proud to congratulate Anaheim Bruno Serato, chef and owner of the Anaheim White House Restaurant, for being a top 10 finalist for the 2011 CNN Hero of the Year award.  Serato was recognized tonight along with his fellow nine nominees during the nationally televised "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" awards program.

“Bruno Serato’s commitment, service and kindness to the children and families of Anaheim are immeasurable,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait.  “His nomination as a top 10 finalist for the 2011 CNN Hero of the Year award is most fitting.  He changes the world for hundreds of children each day by providing them hot meals prepared by caring hands.  To us, Bruno truly is an Anaheim hero.”

The CNN Hero of the Year honor recognizes everyday people changing the world.  Each day since 2005 Serato has fed a pasta dinner to more than 300 Orange County children, many of whom live in motels, at the Boys and Girls Club in Anaheim.
